Is ACT broadband good in Bangalore?

I am thinking about taking a 15 Mbps plan from ACT. BSNL is horrible and quite frankly hopeless. Airtel is not available and Sify and Hathaway don't have the plans I am looking for. Tata Indicom is not available either. ACT broadband is quite cheap. How bad is their downtime? Do you get the promised speed? How is there customer service? How knowledgeable are their technicians? Please review only if you use their service. I live in Srinagar, BSK 1st Stage.

I have been using this connection since Jan 2014 . The speed is awesome . I really like the speed . But customer service is too bad . They don't understand urgency of the customer , simple tell us some process and all . One more thing , they do not have any customized plans based on the usage . like from 2 ,4 Mbps to 20 mbps plans . i think they should customize their tariff plans like 6 , 8 ,10 ,12 mbps like tht .

ACT is hopeless !!!



I have no complaints on their speed, however of the four months connection I had 3 major down times and that too for 3 consecutive months soon after the connection months (average 6 days)



The most stupid validation is that they have a 24 hours turn around time(TAT) and when contacted then on this they advised that its business hours, so this means 3 bloody working days and if you report an issue on Friday(mostly been my case) it gets sorted only by latest Monday or by early Tuesday after a fine 20-25 calls to the contact center, and if you have any public holidays in between then it is even more worse...



People in customer care are the most horrible set, they just promise lavishly but not even the managers at the customer care knows anything... forget about a premium service, it takes a great human effort to make them understand a simple issue... they beat around the bush and keep irritating us to a point we get agitated and forced to use words... at this point like a pre-recorded statement in IVR they say "please be professional"...."please be professional"...."please be professional" and finally disconnects the call.

One of the WORST customer care experience, They have no interest in understanding the customer problems but wants to take the ownership of the brand.. how funny isn't it... as soon as you speak something about the brand they treat you like an outlaw,

Question is when you can not resolve a customer query then why show off all this drama of self esteem and credibility....



So guys my sincere advice/suggestion please please please do not go for this stinking service...



ACT - as the name suggests they only act (drama) nothing real.

Hi,



I was using ACT connection form quite some time and speed was good. But you dont trust their customer care. If we look only speed of internet and after that no service you are looking if you don't have connectivity, then ACT is good. If you raise any complaint you will get complaint number and after that there will not be any followup. One fine day you will get an SMS saying, your complaint is resolved and that to you donto know., Actually your complaint might have not resolved. Again you need to call customer care and wait minimum of 10 -15 minutes to get connected and later they take another complaint.



Another issue is they usually offer referral bonus. Thats totally cheating. If you are not following up they won't give any referral bonus and if you forget to follow up and later if you remember they will say you didn't raise complaint on-time so you are not eligible. I referred some of my frineds they are are cursing me now.



And one more issue id advance payment. You need to make payment for your internet 15 daYys before. And after that you dont have connectivity, you are under loss. They won't even give back money and now if you are not ready to pay before 15 days they started charging late payment.



So I strongly suggest please donot go for ACT at any case. There are other providers like Hathway and BB internet, they are far better than this ACT.

Please don't go for ACT broadband.... The high speed is a eyewash and customer/service for any complaints is as good as non-existent



Reg Speed.... do a speed test from various speedtest websites (ensure to choose a server outside India)....I got max 5Mbps and average of 2.5Mbps from 7 different websites. However, the company personnel will choose an India based server and show that your speed is 19Mbps (more than the 15Mbps you have opted for)..... you download a file from the internet and see at what speed the file gets downloaded....for me it worked out to less than 2Mbps ... this was tested by ACT themselves... however they tried to mislead me by using an incorrect conversion ratio.... so beware, they will trick you into believing that you are actually getting more than 15Mbps speed



On Customer service.... In case you have any complaint, then god may answer your prayers, but ACT broadband will not answer... they will just close your complaint without addressing the issue.... I have already raised 5 complaints in the first 3 weeks of taking the connections... 4 of them have been closed without being addressed... I reopened then and they again close... the saga still continues as i write this review....



Also, be ensure that the junction box from where the connection / line is drawn has back-up power arrangements.... else, in case of a power cut in the area, the internet will not work (you may have UPS back-up but it wont help).... I am facing this issue ....everytime there is a power cut, the internet stops working (I have a generator at home but the junction box from where I am given a connection does not have power backup.... Raised a complaint and they have closed it without addressing...



Have dropped emails etc... but nothing works...



In short... avoid ACT Broadband

I requested for shifting my connection on 12 Aug, since there was no response I complained on 15 Aug they claimed they have no records for my request. The customer service executive immediately told that they dont have service in my area, I personally know someone who is using this service in my building, and even met a ACT sales executive and he also confirmed that service is available, I seriously wonder how can a executive blindly say such a thing and kick away a customer, so when I argued with him and he had no response, then opened another ticket for shifting.But as usual it was never responded, so I complained to nodal officer and again no response.seems nodal officer does not even exist.



I got fed up and complained to appellate authority and then I got a call from a technician and he said he will come and give the new connection on 29 Aug 3:30PM. He never showed up and when I called his number he is not answering, seems another fake from ACT.





My advise dont go with service, there are plenty of options out there.

its the worst ever net connection i have taken!!! I took the 6mths pack in Aug 2013 and i still have 3 more months of internet left of the 6 mths pack today !!!!

Every month there is no internet connection for more than 20 days.. They have the worst customer service. The horrible part is nobody from the team bothers to call or send u a msg saying there is some issue at their end..we don not even get any update on the complaint status. Each time I have to call to check the status.

Please think many times before you decide to go for ACT Broadband. Their overall service quality and customer support channel is pathetic and also unethical to say in a nutshell. When I called them for a new connection a representative came and collected a check for INR 19,152 and supporting documents for 1 year subscription for 50MBPS. I waited for 3 days and there was no information about the connection. I tried calling the sales person and also called their customer care center and logged a ticket. Even after this, there was no response for next 2 days and then I decided to cancel my connection request. I called their customer care center informing about this and asking them to return my check and also the documents. I also sent SMS to the sales person asking him to return the check and also logged a complaint through their website for the same. Again I called the customer care center (after couple of days) and they again logged another ticket for this to cancel and return the check. After this, there is no response from them for 1 week and the check and other documents were not returned. After again few days, I received call from their service engineers that they are coming for connection and I told them that I have already taken another connection and I also already cancelled the new connection request with ACT.

The interesting part now, is that after almost 1 week after all these, ACT folks had suddenly deposited my check for collection (without providing connection) and thankfully, since I had already made a stop payment request to my bank, the payment got stopped.

It is really surprising that these kind of cheaters are in the established broadband market and not sure how they are getting along with this kind of methods.

Pls avoid even thinking about ACT.



I requested for a new connection a couple of days back. Their employee came over to my house to check the feasibility of connection. After his confirmation I filled the forms, submitted the proofs. And of all with their attractive packages they offered free installation and 1 month free for the 6 months advance payment. They managed to take rupees Rs.7000 and on one fine day they send a message that they are not available in my area.



Their employee who was very interested in collecting the money doesnt attend my phone calls. He picks the call when I its from a different number but then cuts it off knowing its me. The customer care has only one sentence to make pls wait for 7 days . They say the same line when I complain about their employee.



Their motto is to empty our pockets.

Worst Internet providers.

I applied for ACT Fibernet connection 30 days back. They promised me that they will install and activate connection with in 1 week. I waited for 20 days before contacting ACT office. They said they will do it in 2 days. After that I am calling them and every time they give some excuse and ask me to wait for 1-2 days. It has been 30 days now and i dont have internet connection. Now I am asking for my money refund and they are saying they will initiate refund and I have to wait for 15 days before I can get it. I am not sure whether they will give it or not.

I have worst experience with ACT customer care and ACT staff in their office.

If you want to get new connection, don t go for ACT.

Chinnaswamy Raju is the owner of ACT. It's a hopeless Internet connection. Your speed test may show you your accurate speed but trust me your speed isn't as true. It's a horrible connection. Please make sure you do not get it and advise your neighbors too. It's better if you get airtel but it may be a little pricey. ACT Internet is as worthless as it's owners life. :)

I praise their speed. No doubt. Even I have had exact same experience, as I read above. Except from girish ... Now I realized how bad act suck... They are stupid...calling and actually speaking to someone from act is worthless. I have lost hope many times from act., in very urgent situation they have failed me. Out of rage cancelled my connection as well.. Now I am stupid that I got it reconnected keeping a very thin silver lining of hope... But they failed me again thrice in very very urgent situation.... Now I am too disappointed with them and realized with this review today that ACT does not score even an average to be recommended. let it be for consumers or for business. they should either shut or try hard to get up to the mark. Very very very bad act broadband connection



please friends dont take this connection . once you will take this net connection and in case of any distortion will come . their technical wont come to fix it . very very very very bad service .. i have used two time this act connection . both of the time this service problem is happened . and second time when i have taken connection afetr 20 days only net has occurred some problem . means not even 1 months . and when i called to customer care . they always said . there is some problem in setup box . and they are not fixing that problem . still i am facing this issue .. act guys are vary bad . please dont trust for this act

ACT is very bad

*their speed is poor and not consistent ,they dont give what they promised and collected money for.

*their portal and their entire system is fraudulent,the figures that show the consumption of package shows exaggerated nos.

*their service to attend a complain is poor

*people sitting in the customer care and registering a complain doesnt understand a bit of whats going on with their own organisation.

My sincerer advice is to keep out of this service provider but one thing for sure is that the name suits them perfect ACT (pretend)

Not sure in Srinagar, however, ACT Indranagar deserves a BIG ZERO. I got a new 50MBPS connection and it worked only one day. The customer care guys take a complaint but no response from their technical team even after 2 days. They said one hour, then 24 hours and now 24 business hours. ACT is a sham. Please go for reliable alternatives, 50MBPS is no good when the internet itself does not work!

yes it is good i am almost using it for more than 10 months . i had bought 12 mbps plan later they upgraded to 20 mbps free of cost. now some times i get speed upto 30mbps which is very good promised is 20mbps. i am using hathway also which is pathetic they say 50 mbps but you dont get 1 to 2 mbps constant speed

I am using this broadband service for the first time. I live in marathalli and recently got the connection. I took a 20 Mbps connection which is fast but not as

expected even when i am the only customer using it in the whole building and thus the connection is not being shared yet. I don't know what will happen once it

gets shared with other people.

Within 4 days of my connection, an issue arose due to some cable or fibre malfunction. I was unable to use the internet. Called the customer care who informed me

that the technician will visit my place by the end of the next day. WTF I was on work from home and this is the service i was getting from ACT FIBRENET.

I informed them that I was on work from home for which they promised that the technician will visit soon. After few hours I called in again when no one showed

up and I was again informed that by end of next day it will be rectified but they have put this case on a priority basis. WHAT IS THE USE OF THE BROADBAND IF

I CAN'T USE IT FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE I TOOK IT FOR ????

After few hours I called them again and they informed the same When I asked for TL the guy told me that he was busy and I will get a call from him in 2 hours.

BUT I NEVER GOT A CALL BACK. My day was lost.

I don't know what are your experiences with ACT but this is the FIRST IMPRESSION they have made in my mind. A BAD IMPRESSION.

Let's see how things turn out, there are many more days to go.



UPDATE : I am again facing the same issue . When called the customer care they informed that it will be resolved by the next day. but when it was not resolved

I called again for the update. I asked politely... oh yes i did , but the consultant named HARI, that bugger was being rude with me. When i asked him not to be

rude please .. I got an answer saying that "I am not being rude" HE was really rude. I warned him 3 times but he still continued. So I asked him to escalate

the matter to TL for which he did not agree ... After forcing him for the transfer , he put me on hold for more than 8 minutes only never to return. I called

again and this time I was successful in talking to a TL.

In a matter of 10 days , this was the second time I was having service outage and have spent more thanRs 200 on calls with their consultants.( yes they dont have

toll free no. and they charge you more than the usual call charges I guess, .....maybe i am not fully correct on this).

Will update again about this on the next day . HOPE THE SERVICE IS RESTORED.



UPDATE : Today is 2nd august and it has been a bumpy ride with the ACT broadband (or fibernet as they like to call themselves) till now. After my last update,

there has been numerous numbers of occasions( yes it occurs atleast 2 times a month with varied period lengths) where I had no internet service and the period

of no service days varried from 1 to 14 days. Yes, just imagine how

their service is. I thought of permanent disconnections several time but a thought in my mind always restricted me to do so . I thought " What if other internet

service providers are worst than ACT. What if I disconnect and loose all my time to switch to other service provider to find that they have similar service as that

of ACT. I had these thoughts because this was

the very first time I was using a broadband service in bangalore. BUT I DON'T THINK ANYTHING COULD BE WORST THAN ACT BROADBAND. but still who knows !! So, I am still

with ACT.

It was 2 months ago that I decided to visit my hometown and get the broadband disconnected temporarily. So I called in the ACT customer care to gain knowledge of the

procedure. The executive who took my call stated that I could suspend my services for a period of 6 months and there will be no charges for the no. of days I stay

disconnected or upon reconnection. I confirmed about the charges from the executive 3 times, everytime making myself more clearer. The executive still said that

there will be no charges. Great I said. But I was informed that I must call in again a day before the suspension to inform again. I said OK. And I called in a

day before the desired suspension date. The then executive , who took my call said that I could suspend for indefinite period of time and there will be no

charges. I told the executive that

I was informed that I was told that the max no. of months could only be 6 months but the executive insisted that it was for indefinite no. of days. I said

OK again. But I called in a 3rd time to make sure what was correct information and this time they informed that the max. no. of months could only be 3 months

and no charges will be there. Imagine 1 company , 3 executives and 3 informations. Finally I suspended my services.

When I was in my hometown I got a call from ACT and the lady at the other end of the phone said that on that day they were having some offer and if I reactivate

my services on that day then I will not be charged. WHAT THE **** !!!!!! I told her that I was informed that it will be free and she sounded clueless. call

disconnected.

Another day I again got a similar call and was informed that there will be a charge of Rs 500 on reconnection. WTF. Call disconnected.

Again on third day I received a similar call again I was informed the same thing. Meanwhile I n tried contacting the nodal officer of ACT as he had earlier

told me that I must contact him if had any issues but everytime I called him , the no. came busy.

So I again tried contacting the nodal officer but no luck. Again number busy. Another call ... again no. busy. So I tried several times on several days to

contact the nodal officer but no luck. Everytime the recorded voice said that the no. was busy.

After around 2 months I came back to bangalore and called in ACT to reconnect my services. They informed me that I will be charged Rs 500 for reconnection.

When I gave them the info which was provided to me by their executives then they connected my call to a different team and that team informed me that there

will be a charge of Rs 100 and not Rs 500. When I opposed again.... they said they will see what they can do. So I reactivated my services and to my surprise

there was no internet signal. Again there was no service and I just reactivated the services. I complained about this and was told that a technicial will visit

my place. Technicians visited my place after 2,3 days and on inspection they informed me that my cable was having some problem and they will change the cable

the next day. And like always i said OK.

Next day nanother technician came to my place and informed me that the distribution box at the roof of my building was having a problem and a new box must be

installed. He said that It can only be done on monday i.e after2,3 days.



On monday a technician came in and said that he was there to install the services for me. He came without the box. He was thinking that I was new customer and

I wanted installation and that's why he only came with cables. He told me that no port in the box was free and thus he can't install my services. I told him

that I was the very first customer in my building so how can there be no port free. He had no answers and left saying that he will inform hismanager that the

customers has told that if the internet is not restored , the customer will break and throw away the box. ( I don't know if he said this to his manager or not )

after few days no one turned up to rectify my issue. I called in again and got that same **** information that a technician will visit my place. The very same

day I noticed some stranger sitting on the roof top and on enquiring I came to know that he was a technician from ACT who came for some other purpose.

That day he told me that my cable was taken out of the port of the box and somebody else's cable was inserted. That means , the ACT pulled out my connection

cable to accomodate a new customer in my building . WHAT THE FUCCKKK AGAIN !!

Are these people at ACT out of their minds? They have no work ethics. really trust me.

That technician then reconnected my cable in an empty port which he located inside the box. After few days of operation the services were disconnected again.

The technicians came and the services were restored after 9 days . OMG !!!!! but on the very same day the services were restored , the services were out again.

and till now (2nd august 2015) I do not have my internet connection. And this is not where they stopped. They sent me a bill amount on my phone , which was way

too much for the type of internet plan I have. Tried calling them but they donot pick the calls untill unless you wait for atleast 8,9 minutes on the call. The

balance on my cell ran low and the call got disconnected.

I tried calling them again but unfortunately they I was late and the customer care had closed. Now something struck me. If the customer care is closed and the

nodal officer uses the same customer care no.( i know this as the nodal officer himself had told me earlier) but with a different extension, then on calling

the nodal officer, I must get the same recorder msg which informs us that the customer care is closed. BUT TO MY SURPRISE, the recorded voice said the very

same thing which I had been listening everytime I call him and i.e. " the no. you are calling is currently busy on another call" This simply can mean that

my phone no. was either blocked by the nodal officer or everybodys no. was blocked. GOD KNOWS WHAT"S TRUE.

This is the 5th day of "no service" this time + 9 days just before that.... So from previous 14 days there is no internet connection at my house.

LET'S SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT.

ACT is very good network, But Service is very very bad, I never expected this type of situation
